Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Spozon collects when you use the Spozon app, why, who sees it, and what you can do about it. We keep it short and plain on purpose. Spozon is operated by [Legal entity name, country] ("Spozon", "we", "us").
1. What we collect
Information you give us
- Account: your email address, name and a password. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the name and email that provider shares with us. Your password is stored only in hashed form.
- Profile (optional): phone number, profile photo, bio, date of birth, gender, skill level and DUPR rating. You choose what to fill in.
- Activity: games and matches you create or join, bookings, tournament registrations and results, friends and connections, and reviews.
- Messages: chats you send to other players, groups and venues.
- Payment details you add: if you are a venue owner or organizer, the payment information or QR code you choose to show to players. [Confirm how payments work in your launch version]
- Support: what you write to us when you contact support.
Information from your device, only if you allow it
- Location (precise or approximate) to show courts and events near you. You can use Spozon without it by searching manually.
- Camera and photos to take or choose a profile or venue photo, and to scan QR codes.
- Notifications for invitations, bookings, messages and tournament updates. We store a device token for this.
- Calendar to add tournament events you pick.
- Microphone for voice search. The speech is processed by your phone's speech recognition service.
Collected automatically
- App usage and diagnostics (screens used, crashes, device model, operating system and app version).
- Technical data when the app talks to our servers, such as IP address and request logs, used for security and to prevent abuse.
2. Why we use it
- To run your account and the features you use: courts, games, matches, tournaments, chat and notifications.
- To keep Spozon secure, prevent abuse and fix bugs.
- To understand how the app is used and improve it.
- To answer your support requests and send service messages such as verification codes and booking confirmations.
We do not sell your personal data, and Spozon does not show third-party advertising. Where the law requires a legal basis (for example in the EU and UK), we rely on: performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running and securing the service, and your consent for device permissions such as location, which you can withdraw at any time in your phone settings.
3. Who can see it
- Other users: your name, photo, bio, skill level and activity you make visible, such as games you join. Your email address is not shown to other users. Your phone number is shown to other users only if you add one to your profile; if you leave it empty, nothing is shown.
- Venue owners and organizers: the details needed to handle your booking or registration.
- Service providers who process data for us under contract:
- Google (Firebase: sign-in, push notifications, crash reports, analytics and app configuration; Google Maps).
- Apple, if you sign in with Apple.
- Cloudflare, which carries traffic to our servers.
- Our hosting provider and our email delivery provider. [Name them when chosen]
- Authorities when the law requires it, or to protect people's safety and our rights.
4. Messages and security
We protect data in transit with HTTPS and restrict access to our systems. Chat messages are not end-to-end encrypted: they are stored on our servers so you can read them on your devices, and our systems can technically access them. Please do not share passwords, card numbers or other sensitive information in chat. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot promise absolute security.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we deactivate it straight away and delete or anonymize your profile and personal data [confirm the deletion process matches this], except what we must keep for legal, security or fraud-prevention reasons, which we keep only as long as needed. Backups are overwritten on a regular cycle, [about 30 days]. Messages you sent to others may remain visible to them in an anonymized form.
6. Your choices and rights
- Edit your profile at any time in the app.
- Delete your account in the app or by email. See Delete your account.
- Turn off location, camera, notifications, calendar and microphone in your phone settings.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, a correction, or to stop certain processing, by emailing support@spozonapp.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California) you have legal rights to access, correct, delete, port and object, and to complain to your data protection authority. We will answer within the time the law allows.
7. Children
Spozon is not for children under [13] (or the higher age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. International transfers
Our servers and providers may be in countries other than yours. When we move data across borders, we use safeguards the law accepts, such as standard contractual clauses.
9. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
